The Janet Peterson trophy is an award recognizing those who make the dreams of riders and horses come true.
People such as owners, sponsors, vets, farriers, grooms, show managers, judges, stable managers and many others. Our criteria in recognizing the every day unsung hero is simple: recognize those who strive to make the sport of show hunters better. Janet Peterson was one such owner, a true lifelong horsewoman, who for decades owned and enjoyed the careers of numerous top show hunters. Probably the most famous was Brunello, co-owned by Janet and Liza Towell-Boyd, currently the most decorated International Hunter Derby champion of all time.
